How do I allow camera access?
iPhone / iPad: Go to Settings → BarcodeIQ → Camera and toggle it on.

Android: Go to Settings → Apps → BarcodeIQ → Permissions → Camera and allow it.

If BarcodeIQ was denied camera access previously, you may need to go to your device settings manually — the app cannot show the system permission prompt again after it has been denied once.
How do I allow photo library access?
Photo library access is needed to use the Import from Gallery feature.

iPhone / iPad: Go to Settings → BarcodeIQ → Photos and select "All Photos" or "Selected Photos".

Android: Go to Settings → Apps → BarcodeIQ → Permissions → Storage and allow it.

What barcode formats does BarcodeIQ support?
BarcodeIQ supports 13+ formats including: QR Code, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF-14, Aztec, Data Matrix, PDF417, and Codabar.
What should I do if scanning fails?
Try these steps:

1. Make sure the barcode is fully visible and not cut off.
2. Move your device closer or further to change focus distance.
3. Use the torch button (flashlight icon) in low-light conditions.
4. Pinch to zoom in for small or distant barcodes.
5. Use the Import from Gallery option to scan from a saved image — it uses an additional processing method and may succeed where the camera did not.
6. Make sure the barcode is not damaged or heavily worn.
How does Batch Mode work?
Batch Mode (Pro feature) keeps the scanner ready after each scan, automatically dismissing the result sheet after a short delay so you can scan the next code quickly. It is ideal for scanning multiple items in sequence. Toggle it using the icon in the scanner toolbar. Batch Mode is available to Pro users.

How do I buy BarcodeIQ Pro?

How do I restore my Pro purchase?
If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore your purchase. Open the Pro upgrade screen from any locked feature and tap "Restore Purchases". Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to purchase. Your Pro access will be restored at no charge.

General
Is BarcodeIQ free?
Yes. BarcodeIQ is free to download and use. Live camera scanning, basic gallery import (3 per day), scan history (last 6), and the basic barcode generator (Code 128, Code 39, QR) are all free. BarcodeIQ Pro ($3.99 one-time) unlocks unlimited gallery import, batch mode, GS1 decoding, unlimited history, advanced code types, and share report.
Does BarcodeIQ store my scans online?
Your scan history is stored locally on your device and is not retained on any server. There are two cases where data is transmitted: (1) product lookup for EAN and UPC barcodes — if you explicitly tap “Look Up Product”, that barcode value is sent to OpenFoodFacts; (2) gallery image scanning — when you import an image and on-device decoding fails, the image is temporarily sent to BarcodeIQ’s own server for a secondary decode attempt. The image is processed in memory and discarded immediately — it is never stored, logged, or shared. If on-device decoding succeeds, no image leaves your device.
Does BarcodeIQ read my clipboard?
Yes — when you open the scanning screen, BarcodeIQ checks whether your clipboard contains a barcode value or URL that can be scanned and offers to scan it with a single tap. No clipboard content is transmitted to any server or stored. iOS will show a system banner the first time this happens. You can dismiss the clipboard banner in the app if you do not want to scan it.
How do daily scan reminders work?
BarcodeIQ can send you a daily local notification at 10:00 AM to remind you to scan. This is entirely optional. To enable it, go to the History tab and tap the notification bell icon. To disable it, tap the bell again or go to Settings › Notifications › BarcodeIQ on your device. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device — no data is sent to any server.
